Amidst the ambience of candle light and a warm glow, enjoy a three course meal specially created by our Head Chef. Built in 1797, this elegant building not only represents an institution at the forefront of surgical education and training, but also serves as an outstanding venue for conferences, meetings, banquets…and all types of events. The Royal College of Surgeons offers stunning function rooms ranging from the oak-panelled Edward Lumley Dining Hall to hi-tech modern tiered lecture theatres. The latest technology, including web-broadcasting facilities, is juxtaposed with classical surroundings and a fascinating history, and the extraordinary exhibits in the Hunterian Museum will add character and originality to any event.

From a canapé reception in the extraordinary Hunterian Museum where the fascinating displays will be a talking point for days to come, to being swept away by the majestic wood-panelled Edward Lumley Hall for dinner and dancing, this exceptional venue will ensure your Christmas party is utterly unique and truly memorable.

Dinners
Lincoln’s Inn is steeped in fine dining history; over the years elaborate and exquisite banquets have been a regular occurrence within our Halls, with guests being served opulent menus beneath our stained glass windows and hand-crafted wooden ceilings. Though culinary traditions have evolved over the centuries, our fine dining customs and the beauty of the collegiate buildings have remained a valued element of the Inn’s dining culture and can provide either an intimate setting for a small lunch or a stunning backdrop for a grand affair.

We can accommodate between thirty and 250 guests for your seated dining event.

Special Events
The eleven acre private estate of Lincoln’s Inn offers a range of versatile event spaces suitable for exhibitions, trade fairs and product launches. We welcome large scale bespoke events that require multiple formats across multiple venues.

Packages

Situated in the heart of central London, set in a tranquil, eleven acre estate containing distinctive ‘old Legal London’ architecture, the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn offers a beautiful array of historic halls and contemporary meeting facilities. Our passionate and highly skilled hospitality team are renowned for creating and delivering exceptional corporate events, innovative fine dining experiences and spectacular weddings that leave lasting memories.

The Great Hall
Opened by Queen Victoria in 1845, this fine Hall complete with Minstrels’ Gallery, striking fresco and ceiling of beautifully worked oak is described as one of the most impressive surviving buildings of its kind in London.

By day the Great Hall operates as a dining hall for barrister members of the Inn. By evening this historic Hall transforms into the perfect setting for grand dinners for up to 250 guests or elegant receptions for up to 450 guests.

This building also boasts our adjoining Bench Rooms and an east facing terrace with views of our private gardens, perfect for an arrival reception.

The Old Hall
The Old Hall, dating back to 1490, is a wonderful example of beautifully maintained Tudor architecture with original roof timbers, stained glass windows featuring armorial bearings, and Hogarth’s painting of “Paul Before Felix”, creating a desirable setting for intimate lunches and dinners for up to 120 guests, celebratory receptions for 200 guests and inspiring seminar events for 130 delegates.

We hire the Old Hall building exclusively so you would have full use of the Crypt as well.

Lecture Theatre
Opened in 2018 by Queen Elizabeth II, the Ashworth Centre is named after Mercy Ashworth who was one of the first women to be called to the bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1923. The Lecture Theatre is ideal for screenings, conferences and talks, and is complete with integrated AV facilities.

The tiered theatre style seating for 158 delegates also retracts, allowing the stylish double height space to be used for receptions as well as a host of other event possibilities. This venue is conveniently located next to a suite of Meeting Rooms suitable as break out spaces for smaller group sessions.

Meeting Rooms
Opened in 2018 by Queen Elizabeth II, the Ashworth Centre is named after Mercy Ashworth who was one of the first women to be called to the bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1923. Set beneath the Great Hall, a suite of ten meeting rooms split between two floors have been expertly designed to allow natural daylight to flood each room through generous skylights.

Individually the rooms are ideal for small boardroom meetings of up to sixteen delegates, or the partition walls offer the flexibility to open the rooms up for larger board meetings of 60 guests or theatre style seminars for up to 120 guests. The glass ceiling in the adjoining communal foyer provides impressive views of the Great Hall turrets above.

These Meeting Rooms can also be hired in conjunction with our Lecture Theatre.

The Old Court Room
The Old Court Room is named after its original use and was once a lively scene of legal activity. Today its walls house the Inn’s antiquarian books and the room offers a tranquil setting flooded with natural daylight, with views across the Inn’s estate. This intimate room makes a great setting for lunches and dinners of up to 47 guests, receptions for up to 80 people and lectures for up to 47 delegates.

The MCR
The Members’ Common Room was created by building a mezzanine floor within the original Victorian kitchens of the Great Hall.

The vaulted ceilings have been restored to their former glory allowing guests to enjoy the preserved Victorian architecture. A contemporary space which retains its historic origins, the MCR today is a unique event venue, complete with private south facing terrace.

A stylish and versatile setting for receptions and small dinners.

If you are looking for an intimate meeting room for focused discussion or a large conference space for blue sky thinking, Lincoln’s Inn offers a range of options to suit your needs. The Inn’s historic rooms; the Great Hall, Old Hall and Old Court Room can add an air of gravitas to your event. Our lecture theatre with adjacent meeting rooms in the Ashworth Centre offers a stylish contemporary event setting.

We can accommodate small meetings from ten guests up to a conference for 300 delegates.

Receptions
