Classic Meets Contemporary
Built in 1826 on its own ‘island’ in the heart of the capital, One Marylebone opened its doors as a hire space in 2008 and quickly rose to become one of the leading unique venues of London.
Beautifully refurbished to the original designs of Sir John Soane, the Grade I listed venue boasts two exclusive hireable spaces plus landscaped garden, moments from Regents Park. The grandeur of One Marylebone has attracted blue-chip brands from a variety of industries with a focus on fashion, beauty and the arts. This unique central London venue offers endless possibilities to host a huge range of events from Christmas parties, exhibition space, charity events, corporate events, engagement parties and weddings.
One Marylebone, formally Holy Trinity Church, was built in 1826-28 to the designs of Sir John Soane to celebrate the defeat of Napoleon. Soane (1753 –1837) was arguably England’s finest architect in the Neo-Classical style.
His architectural works are distinguished by their clean lines, massing of simple form, decisive detailing, careful proportions and skilful use of light sources. His best-known work was the Bank of England, a building that had a widespread effect upon commercial architecture.
Grade I listed by English Heritage, One Marylebone is one of only three London churches by Soane; it was the most expensive and now considered to be the most architecturally distinguished. His influence of the Neo Classical is evident in the portico of the church and his constant desire to work with light is never more evident than it is in the first floor Galleries. Apart from the loss of the original chancel, the basic structure of Soane’s church survives complete and is of huge national architectural and historical significance.

  • Dimmable uplighters around the perimeter and window arches of the Galleries in the colour of your choice, with smart mirrored hides
  • Wedged distributed speaker system providing excellent speech and background music amplification with a microphone and iPod for background music
  • Selection of poseurs, low tables, poufs and sofas.
  • An in-house bar is also available.

 

Soane Hall

Lighting Design

  • Uplighting to the perimeter of the room, the pillars and alter – emphasising the architectural features in the colour of your choice
  • The pattern of your choice will fill the eight archways (choice of three)
  • Ceiling wash in the colour of your choice
  • Pinspotting to table centres and features (up to 40)
  • Colour changing fixtures to the alter for dancing
  • Intelligent moving lights for dance floor lighting
  • A haze machine is provided to pick up the beams of light

 

Dance Floor Lighting & Effects

  • Colour changing fixtures, as well as moving intelligent lights will surround the alter, creating a perfect atmosphere for dancing
  • A haze machine will be included to create beams of light
  • Selection of poseurs, low tables, poufs and sofas.
  • An in-house bar is also available.

 

White Speech & Background Music PA System

  • Our subtle & discreet distributed NUQ-10 white speaker system provides excellent speech and background music amplification.
  • A wireless microphone is provided for speeches.
  • A CD player with a selection of CDs are included to play background music.
  • Please note: This PA System can be upgraded to support a live band; a full technical rider is required to quote for this.

 

DJ PA System

  • Front of house DJ PA and full range with added bass bins for punchy relay is the perfect system to amplify a DJ.
  • All necessary kit for a CD DJ will also be provided. The DJ will only need to bring their music.
  • A smart mirrored booth will be supplied to surround the DJ

 

Catering Power

  • 63A 3phase catering power will be distributed for up to 12 x 3KW items in the Crypt Mezzanine kitchen.
  • Additional catering power requirements (e.g. food stations or extra kitchen equipment) are to be approved by the venue and production team and may occur additional charges.

 

The Crypt

Lighting Design

  • Pillars around the perimeter of basement (ground floor and mezzanine) will be uplight using colour changing fixtures.
  • A pattern wash will cover the central area of the floor
  • Moving lights will be positioned along the back wall either side of the DJ, projecting moving colours and shapes around the room and dance floor.
  • A haze machine will help create the beams of light.
  • Selection of poseurs, low tables, poufs and sofas are provided.
  • A linear lit bar is also provided.

 

DJ PA System

  • Front of house DJ PA and full range with added bass bins for punchy relay is the perfect system to amplify a DJ.
  • All necessary kit for a CD DJ will also be provided. The DJ will only need to bring their music.
  • A smart black booth will be supplied to surround the DJ

Soane Hall
The Soane Hall is the jewel in the crown of One Marylebone. At over 27 feet high, the room is impressive in size as well as beauty. Although full of character with its mosaics and stained glass windows the space remains flexible allowing clients to either enjoy it in its natural state or transform it to fit any requirements of style and branding.
Summer 2014 has seen a huge refurbishment plan, which has meant its seated capacity, has increased to 350. The space is now even more flexible to a client’s bespoke ideas.

Galleries
The Galleries are located on the First Floor of One Marylebone and are the most contemporary and bright of the building’s spaces. Taking the form of a ‘U’ shape, the space is split into East, West and South Galleries. The former two are flooded with natural daylight from floor to ceiling windows and these spaces epitomize the heart of the architect’s passion for light and its effect on a room.
The Galleries can be hired as one space or used as an incredible contrasting reception space for a main function in the Soane Hall.

Gardens
One Marylebone has two external areas, running parallel to both the West and East sides of the building.
The West Garden is the perfect addition to any event needing external space. Whether a reception for a Summer Wedding, an evening drinks party or simply an area for those guests wanting some fresh air, but still involved with the party.
