Further information

The Court Room
The staircase leads down another deck to the Annex and Court Room. The Annex is dominated by an almost life-size portrait of King Edward VIII.

Double doors open into the magnificent Court Room, once the engine room of Wellington. The Court Room underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2005. Cabinets are set into the panelled walls and these display the Company’s silver and gold together with half models and framed antique charts.

The Court Room is an impressive function venue for 120 people. The Court Room is equipped with a modern suite of audio visual equipment, including a large ceiling mounted screen, sound system and internet access.

The Model Room
HQS Wellington is entered through a spacious reception area. This features a teak divided ornate staircase descending through two decks which was saved from the breaking up of the Burns and Lairds’ Irish packet Viper. It was fitted in Wellington during the 1947 conversion. This area is ideal for receiving guests, and contains many paintings and marine antiques.

The staircase leads down to the Model Room and Library. These adjoining rooms are full of books, models and marine artefacts including ships’ bells and medals. The rooms are eminently suitable for small meetings and private dining. The room is eminently suitable for conferences (up to 40 people), private dining and for receptions.

The Quarter Deck
The Quarter Deck is one of the reasons that you will hire the Wellington. With unrivalled views up and down the river, the Quarter Deck is a unique open-air venue. This space, covered by an awning, is ideal for summer cocktail parties, receptions and barbecues. The river traffic passes smoothly by as the sun sets over the House of Parliament. You sit back, cocktail in hand as the band strikes up. What could be nicer.
