Winchester House is a spacious private members club on the banks of the Thames, a stone’s throw from Putney Bridge. The historic venue is brand new to Concerto, and it’s a real hidden gem, with charm and character in abundance.
The flexible space can accommodate wedding receptions, civil partnership ceremonies, Bar Mitzvahs, fashion shows, location filming, conferences, product launches and much more.

The building has a rich and varied history. A motto on the building’s gates, ‘Think and Thank’, dates back to its Cromwellian links and the Putney Debates of about 1646. In the early 1650s Cromwell oversaw a somewhat puritanical Church in England; the words ‘Think and Thank’ are to be found in churches of that period. Oliver Cromwell billeted his officers at Winchester House.

The range or indoor and outdoor spaces make it ideal for any special event.
The historic building is situated within half an acre of grounds, on the banks of the River Thames, just a short walk from Putney Bridge. This makes it easily accessible for guests travelling from all over London. Putney’s quick transport links to Waterloo also mean guests from across the country won’t have any trouble reaching the location of your summer garden party either.
The show-stopping setting of Winchester House is enough to enthral guests coming from far and wide. However, party planning is all about the small details.
As any heritage house should, Winchester House comes prepared with an army of events experts on hand to make sure every last finish has been thought of.
This means we have all of the resources and contacts you need to create your perfect summer party, with everything from circus acts and garden games to canapés and wine tasting all taken care of.

The beauty of having such a versatile space means you can have it custom designed to fit your occasion. In the grand dining rooms and the secret studies, we’ve previously hosted romantic weddings and luxury corporate days away to croquet matches and all night parties. Many summer garden parties and weddings choose to welcome guests with champagne or cocktails on the lawn and then revealed an extensive banquet table in one of the estate’s grand rooms.
The vast outdoor space is complemented by the fanciful interior, meaning your outdoor receptions can be hosted whatever the weather (even if they’re indoors). This means if the heavens decide to open on your perfectly planned garden parties, even a corporate treasure hunt or sports day can be transported into the shelter of our stately home.
