There are 9 event spaces and rooms within Somerset House, Rooms Including The Embankment Rooms a barrel-vaulted space running the full length of the river frontage of Somerset House, originally housed barges, stables and stores with the Thames flowing directly into its Great Arch before the creation of Joseph Bazalgette’s Victoria Embankment. Recently reinvented as The Embankment Galleries, the space is available for daytime and evening hire, subject to the exhibition programme. Its dramatic steel and glass feature staircases, hardstone floors and light walls introduce a contemporary and urban element to this historical space, creating a striking sense of volume and light. Offering the enviable flexibility of a blank canvas, The Embankment Galleries can be transformed for your particular requirements. The full capacity for The Embankment rooms is 300 guests.

There is also The Great Arch gallery with a capacity of 200 delegates. The Great Arch Gallery space is neutral, adaptable space is ideal for standing drinks receptions, dinners and product launches. Other rooms are as follows Courtauld Gallery, The Portico Rooms, Navy Board rooms, The West Wing, Seamans Hall and a river terrace – Available for evening hire on selected dates throughout the year The River Terrace is one of Somerset House’s most exclusive spaces. Available for evening hire for up to 500 guests as an alfresco reception space, or through installation of a stunning glass structure for 200 guests for dinner, the River Terrace has beautiful views of the building’s 18th century façade and across the Thames to the South Ban
