Scotland’s most sustainable building, nestles within the biodiversity garden and beautifully managed landscapes close to the Garden’s west gate, the stunningly fresh and vibrant 120 seat restaurant of the John Hope Gateway building opens out onto a breathtaking vista across the Garden and offers one of the finest dinner setting imaginable for all occasions.

The adjacent David Douglas Room will take your breath away; bright, modern and sympathetic to its natural surroundings, a truly unique private dining or meeting space!

The Caledonian Hall, built originally as the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society’s herbarium, this decidedly charming old building has a sophisticated but relaxed air, perfect for hosting the most special of events and meetings. To enhance your event at the Caledonian Hall there is a lovely outdoor reception area and bright and airy Pavilion with folding glass doors, offering a wonderful aspect of the Garden’s Rockery and Waterfall, a perfect breakout area or an ideal space for a drinks reception.

The Caledonian Hall and adjoining Pavilion can be hired exclusively from 8am until midnight:

The David Douglas Room can be hired from 8am until midnight. This is our private dining venue however it is also a lovely venue for team building events and away days.

The John Hope Gateway operates as a restaurant during the day but can be hired exclusively for evening events from 6.30pm until midnight.
