Hidden away within Browns Covent Garden is Browns Court Rooms. This historic two floor event suite is designed with grand sweeping staircases and stunning original features. Their building was once the Westminster’s County Courts and in 1996 was converted into a bar and restaurant. Their venue has a fantastic suite of rooms available for private and corporate hire.
Within their largest room – The Judges Court, the original Judge’s Bench is still in place. It was from here that convicted defendants were sent down to the detention cells … these detention cells now serve as our wine cellars.
This magnificent room, steeped in history, was formerly the main courtroom of Westminster County Court where debtors and bankrupts were tried.
The focal point of the room is the original Judge’s bench and it was from here that convicted defendants were sent down to the detention cells that now serve as our wine cellars.
Then also they have the Barristers stunning courtroom which once dealt with births, deaths and marriages and it retains many original features including beautiful skylights, chandeliers and the original judge’s bench.
Moving on to the second floor the Judge’s Chamber offers a more informal style than the main Courtrooms and the smallest of their private rooms. The Study is an ideal venue for a small dinner party or private meeting. This intimate event room can be hired on its own or combined with the adjoining Judge’s Chambers to make it a larger event space for corporate events, social celebrations or weddings.
Set in one of the finest areas of London, the Rooms at Browns is the perfect location to hold your celebratory event, and their expert team will work with you to ensure that your event is organised and executed in style.Packages
