Laban Summer Party Venue
Our landscaped gardens incorporate a unique 200-seat amphitheater, within a total area of approx 600 square meters, and are a great location for summer cocktail parties, barbeques and other outdoor functions. The facade of our building provides a visually stunning backdrop and the building is very different from day to night!
Designed primarily as a performance area, the amphitheatre is a striking space for imaginative open-air functions including garden parties, award ceremonies, product launches and cocktail receptions.
The building’s façade provides a unique and dynamic backdrop for any special event and the opportunity to project digital imagery onto the polycarbonate outer skin of the building offers a wealth of creative potential in a truly inspiring setting.
Our production crew is always pleased to work with clients and, where appropriate their chosen AV supplier, to advise on the best artistic use of our spaces.
With an area totalling 600 square metres, the outdoor theatre can also be used as a marquee site, seating up to 250 people for a seated dinner, with space for a DJ or band and a dancefloor.
Winner of the Stirling Prize for Architecture in 2003, Laban Building is a striking venue in the heart of south-east London, designed by Herzog and de Meuron of Tate Modern fame. A world-leading contemporary dance training center, the facilities include a 300-seat theater and 13 studios offering bright, ultra-modern solutions for events requiring creative, inspiring settings. Receptions for up to 400 can be held in the chic foyer space, while the grounds, designed by Vogt Architects, offer an impressive setting for summer parties, with the building providing a breathtaking backdrop.
With regards technical / AV support – we have an experienced production team on site who are happy to work with clients on an individual basis. We do hold some equipment in house and this can be hired on request and we can also hire additional equipment in, according to your requirements. Technical support (where not already included in the venue hire fee or in addition to this), is available for your event (minimum 4 hour call).

The flexible nature of our spaces allows us to cater for a variety of events, from smaller meetings, workshops and conferences, through to product launches and evening receptions. The range of services that we can offer to complement your special event includes the use of our unique Pilates studio, and dance or movement workshops led by a trained professional and designed to meet each client’s specific objectives.
Our 300-seat Laban Theatre is a key venue for conferences, award ceremonies, product launches and various other events.
The stage area offers an alternative space for meetings, seated dinners and film or photography shoots, while the impressive lighting and sound capabilities and a single purchase counterweight flying facility offer enormous creative potential for any event.
Technical services can be tailored to meet the needs of each individual event and our dedicated team will be happy to offer advice on the best use of our facilities.
The Laban foyer or ‘main street’ is a unique, ramped concourse area adjacent to the Bonnie Bird Theatre, incorporating a contemporary bar area seating up to 40 people.
Ideal for drinks receptions, presentations and standing buffets for up to 450, the foyer can be complemented by live or recorded music and film projections
