Located in the cultural heart of The Quays at MediaCityUK, IWM North’s extraordinary spaces offer exceptional possibilities for entertaining and our award-winning approach to event-creation has positioned the museum as one of the leading venues in the city-region.
Unique to IWM North is the Big Picture Show, an immersive cinematic experience that presents film, imagery and sound from our collections. The short feature films, which are shown our main exhibition space, explore various themes from service and separation to Remembrance. Working with the venue’s technical team you can create your own big picture show. These bespoke digital wallpapers are digitally mastered and developed around any theme you choose. Unique to IWM North, these cinematic experiences provide a spectacular backdrop to any event.
Imperial War Museum North’s head chef Tony Pickup has created a range of reception and fine dining seasonal menus using the finest seasonal ingredients. For over ten years Tony and his team at the museum have earned a reputation for creating fabulous food and discerning taste- a menu to please all for a variety of event requirements.

THE WATERSHARD
Opened in June 2017, the WaterShard provides dedicated private event spaces with state of the art AV technology, air conditioning and stunning views of The Quays and MediaCityUK. The flexible spaces offer a range of options for day time meetings for 2 to 120 delegates, and can be used for evening networking or dinners for up to 100 guests.
