A Fitzrovia landmark since it opened at the turn of the millennium, the Charlotte Street Hotel consummately demonstrates the bold, design-first approach that has made all of Firmdale Hotels’ properties so distinctive – not just from the rest of the market, but from each other too. Loosely themed around Virginia Woolf’s Bloomsbury Group, this one’s defining feature might just be its screening room, a honeypot site for local media types. Next door to it, the Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant rooms smartly handle private dinners. The ground-floor Dora Carrington is flooded with daylight, while the Library makes a cosy spot for informal meetings.

Charlotte Street Hotel is situated in the media neighbourhood just north of Soho. It is a minute’s walk from leafy Soho Square and the theatre district, within easy reach of the financial centre and is surrounded by some of London’s best bars, restaurants and cafes.

Designer Kit Kemp has used a ‘Bloomsbury Group’ theme throughout the hotel which features original art from the period and a mural in the brasserie reflecting scenes of ‘contemporary London life’.

PRIVATE EVENTS AND MEETINGS

Two of the hotel’s private event rooms are situated on the lower ground floor adjacent to the screening room.

They are flexible in their format and can be transformed from a sumptuous private dining room to a boardroom or drawing room.

The private room on the ground floor is light and bright with windows and doors opening onto Charlotte Street.

Christmas bookings are now available in a variety of spaces including exclusive festive screenings.
